to alleviate daily frustrations, these homeowners trusted the solutions that ultimately gave them the peace (and the Light) they long desired!

The family was constantly fighting due to the inconvenience caused by the layout of their house. The main hallway had 4 doors and an entrance to the main entry, which created a daily annoyance. The bedroom, laundry closet, linen closet, and entrance to the main family bath were all located near each other, leading to arguments and frustration when getting ready. The biggest issue was the small bathroom with insufficient storage and a single vanity. They contacted us for help, and during our initial meeting, they realized that we could offer new and innovative solutions.

During the consultation, it was clear that the main hall was too dark because there were no skylights or natural light. The hallway was 42 feet long and always required artificial lighting. When we suggested new doors made of mahogany with REEDED glass inserts, the client was worried about privacy in each room. To address their concerns, LeavittHaas bought and installed one of these doors in the most exposed bedroom. Surprisingly, the Reeded glass maintained privacy while letting natural light enter, completely transforming the hallway and the entire house.

We presented solutions to the client for the traffic jam problem. Our suggestions included combining the linen closet and laundry services with the family bath and building custom cabinetry around the upgraded washer and dryer. Initially, the homeowners were skeptical, but after realizing that this would reduce the number of doors and decrease the daily arguments, they agreed it was the best solution. Additionally, since multiple people with different habits would be using the bathroom, we recommended creating a wet-room environment. This involved installing floor-to-ceiling wall tiles that would make the room easy to clean and prevent mold, thus minimizing the wild behavior of some occupants.

The updated design included new fixtures that were chosen for their ability to be cleaned easily. Floating vanities were used to accommodate different preferences, and separate medicine cabinets helped reduce arguments. The addition of laundry facilities sparked the children's interest in doing laundry. Although not every solution was used (such as a pony wall to screen the toilet), future interior design improvements continued to enhance this functional family bathroom.

let there be light…
