I contracted with LeavittHaas in June 2011 to redo the kitchen and exterior of my home. I had been waiting for several years to find the right team to design my home and after seeing their quality and ideas on other projects, I contracted with them to make my home my dream space.

My kitchen was a dark space that felt small and unusable for many years. Through the use of 3D modeling, I was given multiple options and was able to walk through each of the proposed spaces prior to construction. This was invaluable as it allowed me to focus on what was important to me and to ensure that the style would fit with my historic home. As we began designing, Anthony and Rose proposed redoing my powder room, laundry and pantry areas to give me more storage and a better flow for entertaining. They both listened carefully to my priorities and the final design surpassed my expectations, but more importantly, solved problems in my home that had frustrated me for years.

My back porch was a space I had loved for years but again, I felt it needed to be updated so that I could entertain more often. The incorporation of historic and modern finishes brought out the majesty of my home while still allowing it to retain its historic character.

The construction phase was run efficiently and throughout the process more design ideas were implemented that considerably enhanced the starting design.

I could not be happier with the end result and many successful parties have taken place in my home - usually in the kitchen and on the back patio. It’s rare to find designers that listen carefully and are always re-assessing the design to ensure the end result will surpass my needs. I have referred friends to them and they’ve been very happy with their projects as well.

I am happy to recommend the work of LeavittHass, Anthony Leavitt and Rose Haas. They did a complete cosmetic design and renovation of the exterior of my home in Houston. They were very sensitive to the unique nature of the home and chose colors and design features that highlighted the Asian aspects of the building. They smoothly managed the entire project, doing or overseeing all the work such as design, demolition, construction, landscaping and hardscaping, including a new lawn, garden, sidewalk, and, the crowning glory, a Japanese garden with a goldfish pond, all of which resulted in a huge enhancement to the “curb appeal” of the home.
They also did “down-to-the-studs” renovation of a garden apartment, including rewiring, new plumbing, painting, selection and installation of appliances, all of which resulted in a modern, state of the art addition to the property and, again, a sizable increase in the value of the property.
They work closely with clients, being responsive to their design wishes and financial concerns.
I was especially impressed with their perfectionist attention to every aspect of the job down to the smallest detail, and their ability to suggest just the right possibilities whenever I felt uncertain or indecisive.
